Garda Vetting

The Church of Ireland has been undertaking Garda Vetting of its bishops, clergy, staff and volunteers since 2006. The processing of vetting applications is conducted through the Church of Ireland Board of Education.

The National Vetting Bureau Act 2012-2016 makes it a statutory requirement for people working with children or vulnerable adults to be vetted. Following the commencement of this act, the processing of vetting applications is conducted via e-Vetting, the online Garda vetting application system.

The relevant vetting forms and documents can be downloaded below:

  • Vetting Guidelines
  • 100 point Identity verification system
  • NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form
  • NVB3 Parent/Guardian Consent Form

(Additional form required when vetting a 16 or 17 year old)
